NIGHTFALL with EDGAR ALLAN POE
By Eric Coble
The National Edgar Allan Poe Theatre was established in 2019 to bring radio dramas, stage plays, and other arts programming based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe to Baltimore.
Today, the theatre is best known for its award-winning radio dramas and its annual Doomsday marathon reading event.
The National Edgar Allan Poe Theatre balances itself on three pillars of success:
-
Tourism and an enhanced visitor experience for Baltimore,
-
Education, specifically English language literacy for underserved young people, and
-
Responsible development and inclusivity
In time, The National Edgar Allan Poe Theatre plans to have a permanent Baltimore location for its Poe-themed entertainment, catering to the varied needs of all of the city’s residents.
